So this is how they are made....



We watched a man create wooden tops while at the Medieval festival on Sunday. We actually stood there for him to carve 2 tops....we were so mesmerized by the whole process.

He started off with a chunk of wood. I don't have a picture of that since I was so interested in what he was doing. So here it is after he was almost finished!

After he put a design onto the top with another tool he would use different colored markers to add color.


Here is the finished top that he was creating in these pictures.
This is also the one we brought home!

What amazing craftsmanship! Funny how much more you would appreciate a simple little top when you see what went into making it! Great shots of the visit!

PS: Just want you to know I read your blog every time you post, but often it won't let me comment. Blogger is working on the problem I guess.....but I'm glad it let's me in every few days or so..... keep up the good work!
